Full Service Intelligent Mail Benefits:

  • Address Correction
    • Automated address correction notification at no charge
    • Receipt of address correction information is optional for Full Service
    • Address correction information must be used to update address records
    • Ancillary Service Endorsements may be required
    • Offers change of address information or reason for non-delivery (NIXIE)
  • Start-the-Clock
    • Provided to Mail Owner and Mail Preparer
    • Available after the mail has been verified and accepted by USPS®
    • Reflects when mail was inducted into Postal Service™ mail processing
  • Beginning November 29, 2009, qualifying Intelligent Mail Full Service mailpieces receive the following discounts:
    • $0.003 per qualifying mailpiece ($3.00 per thousand) for:
      • First-Class Mail automation letters
      • First-Class Mail automation flats
    • $0.001 per qualifying mailpiece ($1.00 per thousand) for:
      • Standard Mail automation letters
      • Standard Mail automation flats
      • Standard Mail ECR flats
      • Periodicals automation letters
      • Periodicals automation flats
      • Periodicals carrier route letters
      • Periodicals carrier route flats
      • Bound Printed Matter automation flats
      • Bound Printed Matter carrier route flats
    These discounts are applied on the mailpiece level. If, for example, the job had 100,000 pieces and only 50,000 qualified as Full Service, only 50,000 would receive a discount. The amount would be $150.00 ($0.003*50,000) for First-Class Mail, $50.00 ($0.001 * 50,000) otherwise.
